She was born Aug. 24, 1934, in Ranger, Texas, the daughter of Arvy L. and Emma Jean Page Belew. She married W. Tracy Settles on Aug. 17, 1952, in Beardstown. He survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Neil (and Colleen) Settles of Jacksonville, Barry (and Sue) Settles of Rushville, Aaron (and Kay) Settles of Jeffersonville, Ind., Christopher (and Sheryl) Settles of Scottsboro, Ala., and James (and Rosalie) Settles of Decatur, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Michael Settles.
She was raised in Beardstown and graduated from Beardstown High School. They made their home in Rushville. After raising their family they moved to Scottsboro, Ala., and later returned to Rushville.
A family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
