Allen Sours

Allen SoursAllen C. Sours, 61, of Browning died at 10:30 p.m. Nov. 21, 2013, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Jan. 1, 1952, in Rushville, the son of Richard “Dick” and Patricia Lee Sours.

Surviving are one daughter, Tamera Sours of Springfield; one son, Richard Lee “Chirpy” (and Candice) Sours of Rushville; one sister, Brenda (and Larry) Stambaugh of Astoria; two nephews; two nieces; and four grandchildren.

He worked for Bohn Heat Transfer in Beardstown, Bedenbender Trucking of Rushville, Triad Mining in Camden and GM Sipes Construction in Rushville.

He was a member of Browning United Methodist Church; Rushville Lodge #9 A.F. and A.M.; Quincy Consistory AASR; Ansar Shrine of Springfield; founding member and former President of Illinois River ABATE; past Governor of Rushville Moose Lodge #506; UAW Local #506 for 20 years; and International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local #916.

Services will be private with Mr. David Haney officiating. A public visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville. Masonic services will be conducted at the conclusion of the visitation by Rushville Lodge #9 A.F. and A.M.
