He was born Dec. 29, 1938, in Canton, a son of Oscar and Mary Lasswell Schoonover. He married Elaine Behymer on June 20, 1964, in Lewistown. She survives.
Also surviving are one sister, Delores (and Harold) Yocum of Cuba; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
He was a welder and worked at both International Harvester Canton plant, and Springfield, Ohio.
Services were held Tuesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Rev. Don Southerd officiating. Burial was in Baughman Cemetery at rural Smithfield.
