Kenneth SargentKenneth Sargent, 87, of Rushville died at 12:33 p.m. Jan. 2, 2009, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born March 1, 1921, in Rushville, a son of John and Buelah Rose Sargent. He married Virginia Fegley on Sept. 14, 1947, in Beardstown. She preceded him in death on Dec. 6, 2001.

He also was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Aden Lovell; and one brother, Bernard Sargent.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia (and Hal) Breliant of Green Bay, Wis., and Ann (and Michael) Cameron of Rushville; four grandchildren; five step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren.

He was a World War II Navy veteran.

He farmed all of his life in rural Rushville.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Schuyler American Legion Post #4 where he served as past commander, Beardstown VFW Post 1239, and 40 et 8.

Services were held Tuesday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Steve Pichaske officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery with military rites by Beardstown VFW Post 1239.
