VeteranCharles Woodrow “Woody” Schoonover

Charles Woodrow “Woody” Schoonover, 90, of Cuba, formerly of Lewistown, died at 12:10 a.m. March 14, 2008, at Clayberg Nursing Home.

He was born Sept. 5, 1917, in Lewistown, the son of Calvin and Mildred Roberts Schoonover. He married Beulah Chambers on April 15, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo. She died Dec. 23, 1988.

He worked at the former Spoon River Milling in Lewistown before retiring.

He was a World War II Navy veteran, and a member of Lewistown VFW Post 5001.

Graveside services were held Monday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown was in charge of arrangements.
