Joan Stanley

Joan Hamm Stanley, 81, of Tavares, Fla., formerly of Astoria, died at 10:15 a.m. Jan. 28, 2008, at Waterman Hospital in Tavares.

She was born March 19, 1926, in Bluff City, the daughter of Homer and Bessie Sackman Hamm. She married Robert Rawley in 1944. He preceded her in death in 1961. She later married James Stanley in 1974. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Linda (and John) Moss of Tavares and Sandy (and Jerry) Page of Gleason, Tenn.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Clifton Jack Hamm.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Astoria United Methodist Church.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Beth Nelson officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, prior to the services at the funeral home.

Entombment will be in Astoria Memorial Mausoleum.
