Oriana Scott

Oriana Maxine Scott, 92, of Houston, Texas, died July 13, 2007.

She was born July 20, 1914, in Browning, a daughter of Granville and Esther Danner. She married Theodore Robert Scott in July 1937.

Surviving are one daughter, Jan Hagen of Magnolia, Texas; one son, Philip (and Debi) Scott of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.

Oriana and Theodore entered the ministry following their marriage, serving churches in Kentucky, Illinois and Indiana. In 1951, they moved to Texas and she continued her Christian work teaching Sunday school, playing the piano and writing several articles for the Christian Standard Magazine.

She taught at Greenway Private School and worked at Parkview Medical Clinic where she retired at age 82. She had lived with her daughter for the past two years.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Astoria Memorial Mausoleum at Astoria Cemetery with Gary Sheets officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
