Roma StuhlerRoma Schedel Stuhler, 74, of St. Charles, Mo., died May 25, 2007, after a lengthy illness. She had lived in St. Charles, Mo., since 1969.

She was born June 27, 1932, in Nuremberg, Germany, a daughter of Eduard and Erika Schedel. She married Gerhard Stuhler in 1953, in Germany and returned with him to the United States in 1955. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Eric; two daughters, Carla and Ilka; one brother; one sister; and four grandchildren.

She will be remembered by many in this area as a German exchange student at Astoria High School during the 1950-51 school year. She made her home with the Paul Rhoades family and graduated with the Class of 1951.

She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

She was regional vice president of Southwestern Life Insurance Co. in St. Charles for 12 years, prior to her retirement.

Services were held June 1 at her church. Burial was in St. Charles Memorial Gardens. Baue Funeral Home in St. Charles was in charge of arrangements.
