Mildred Shawver

Mildred ShawverMildred M. Shawver, 83, of Lewistown died at 3:40 p.m. Feb. 26, 2007, at Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba.

She was born Sept. 21, 1923, in Canton, a daughter of Clarence E. and Lotus Pollitt Bump. She married Robert E. Shawver on March 4, 1947, in Pekin. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Steven of Peoria; one daughter, Linda Shawver of Lewistown; and one sister, Rosalie Gentle of Canton.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence “Buster” Bump; and a twin sister, Melba Braden.

She attended Illinois Street Christian Church in Lewistown, and had attended Locust Lane and Providence churches in her early years.

She was a member of Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and American Legion Bishop Post 1 auxiliaries. She was a member of Smithfield Friendly Circle, and was a volunteer for Lunch with Friends in Lewistown for many years.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Ray Greenfield officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.

Memorials may be made to her church’s piano fund.
