Corda E. Smith, 93, of Havana, formerly of Summum, died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at Havana Health Care Center.
She was born March 20, 1908, in Fulton County, a daughter of Fred and Lucy Beaty Smith. She married Donald C. Smith on April 13, 1944, in Peoria. He died March 14, 1976.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Loren and Jesse; and two sisters, Bessie Welker and Artha Cox.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 25 years, retiring in 1969.
She was a member of UAW Local 974 in East Peoria and Summum Christian Church.
Graveside services were held today with Rev. Ken Peterson officiating. Burial was in Summum Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
