Ann Collins Sherwood, 70, of Table Grove, died at 2:35 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
She was born June 10, 1929, in Peoria, the daughter of A. Edward and E. Edith Clemens Collins. She married Robert L. Jones in January 1950. She later married Thomas M. Sherwood on Aug. 17, 1960, in Humboldt, Iowa. He died June 14, 1999.
Surviving are two sons, Frank Jones of Half Way, Mo., and John Jones of rural Macomb; one stepson, Thomas Sherwood of East Port, Idaho; one brother, Rex Collins of Macomb; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A graduate of Illinois State Normal University, she was a special education teacher in Dodge City, Kan., from 1959 to 1966 and in Farmington from 1960 to 1984 before retiring.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 413 Women’s Auxiliary in Table Grove and the Illinois Association of Retired Teachers.
She also was a member of Table Grove Community Church, where services were held Saturday with Rev. Tim Ashley officiating. Burial was in Harris Cemetery. Kost Memorial Home in Vermont was in charge of arrangements.
