Robert Riner

Robert RinerRobert Franklin Riner, 92, of Rushville died at 12:50 p.m. April 6, 2010, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born on March 5, 1918, in Lynn Township, Knox County, a son of Raymond E. and Linden Cain Riner. He married Catherine M. Grimm on Aug. 27, 1939, in LaFayette. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Steve (and Kathy) Riner of Rushville, Terry (and Sheryl) Riner of Middleville, Mich., and Dick (and Peggy) Riner of Matteson; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Harold C. Riner.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Rushville and was a 60-year member of Toulon Lodge #93, AF and AM and a 60-year member of Eastern Star.

He farmed 10 years, worked for Railway Express 12 years and Boydston Lumber Company 26 years, retiring as manager of the Rushville yard in December of 1984.

Services were held Friday at his church with Rev. Steve Pichaske officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Rushville City Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Worthington Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
