She was born Sept. 6, 1942, in Vandalia, a daughter of Raymond and Violet Deal Rockwell. She married Jack Ransom on July 9, 1965, in Carthage. He died Dec. 14, 2001.
She also was preceded in death by one sister, Rosemary Laarveld.
Surviving are four daughters, Susan (and Jeff) Conover of Thornville, Ohio, Kathy (and Alvie) Powell of Rushville, Jackie Ransom of Chatham and Karen Smith of Rushville; one brother, Larry Rockwell of Mount View, Ark.; two sisters, Linda (and Don) Steinkuhler of Camp Point and Patty Rockwell of Mount View, Ark.; and two grandchildren.
She worked as a floral designer at Bessell Greenhouse in Mount Sterling and as a cashier at Beardstown IGA.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Vandalia and attended First Baptist Church in Beardstown.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. A.B. Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Marden Chapel Cemetery south of Mount Sterling.
Memorials may be made to Make A Wish Foundation, St. Jude’s Research Hospital, First Baptist Church in Beardstown or Pawnee Assembly of God Church.
