EUGENE HADDON “GENE” PERDEW

Eugene (Gene) Haddon Perdew, 85, of Summum died at 6:07 p.m. Oct. 4, 2018, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born July 24, 1933, the son of Dorothy Gertrude Kapraun and Charles Haddon Perdew.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; three children, Christie (and Joe) Ragle, Allison (and Richie) Shutter and David (and Carinne) Perdew; and five grandchildren.

He was hired by Caterpillar where he worked as a machinist, and then drafted into the Army to go to Germany where he drove Jeeps. Following that, he moved to the suburbs of Chicago to repair office equipment for Smith, Corona and Marchant, and also Steiner Office Equipment. In 1986, he and his family moved to Fulton County where he had several jobs: Pioneer Seed Company, mailman and bus driver.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Summum Cemetery. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana is in charge of arrangements.
