Floyd K. Planthaber, 74, of Canton died at 11:20 a.m. April 7, 2012, at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Canton.
He was born July 8, 1937, in Morrison, a son of Clarence and Etta Williams Planthaber.
Surviving are his fiance, Betty Slaight of Canton; three daughters, Cathy Planthaber and Christina Planthaber, both of Sterling and Diane Planthaber of Clinton, Iowa; three sons, Randy Planthaber of Rock Falls, David Planthaber of Sterling and Matthew Planthaber of Dixon; four brothers, Henry Planthaber of Rock Falls, Harold Planthaber of Peru, Wesley Planthaber of Hemmit, Calif., and Clarence Planthaber of Rockford; one sister, Marion Terry of Depew; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Roy Planthaber; and one sister, Margaret Terry.
He was a maintenance worker at Nachusa Lutheran Home in Dixon.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the memorial home. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Astoria.
Memorials may be made to Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Canton.
