Lyle PeacockLyle James Peacock, 63, of Rushville died at 5:08 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

He was born March 24, 1946, in Macomb, the son of Verlin and Neva Icenogle Peacock.

Surviving are his father, Verlin Peacock of Rushville; two daughters, Cynthia Phillips of Ft. Madison, Iowa, and Vicky (and Mark) Miller of Nauvoo; three grandchildren; and two aunts, Mary Anna Snow and Rosie Icenogle.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

He was a graduate of Rushville High School and first worked at A&P grocery store as a stockman. Later, he operated a gas station in Macomb for the Farmer’s Service. In 1958, he began working as flooring installer for Peacock Home Improvement in Rushville until it closed in 1987. He then was a self-employed installer.

He was a member of Rushville Assembly of God Church.

Services were held Monday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Steve Pichaske officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
