Charles PuckettCharles W. Puckett, 78, of Lewistown died at 6 p.m. July 13, 2009, at his home.

He was born Sept. 19, 1930, in Lewistown, the son of Robert and Nellie Nelson Puckett. He married Shirley Bainter on Dec. 5, 1955, in Palmyra, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are one sister, Jackie O’Bryant of Donna, Texas; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was a Korean War veteran serving in the Army.

He was a meat cutter at the former Day & Palin IGA in Lewistown, retiring in 1992.

He was an active member of Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1 and Lewistown VFW Post 5001. He was a past master of Lewistown Lodge 104 AF & AM and Vermont Lodge 116 AF & AM.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Kathy Barrett officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with military rites conducted by his VFW and American Legion posts. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the memorial home, with Masonic services conducted at 6:45 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Charlie Puckett Memorial Fund in care of Farmers State Bank of Fulton County in Lewistown.
