CAROLYN JUNE (BOLLINGER) PUMFREY

Carolyn June Bollinger Pumfrey, 79, of London Mills died at 6:38 a.m. June 1, 2009, at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg.

She was born Dec. 27, 1929, in Farmington, a daughter of Kenneth Eldon and Agnes Elena Lafferty Bollinger. She married Robert Pumfrey on Sept. 16, 1948. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Amy Garrett of Abingdon; three sons, Bobby Pumfrey of Kipling Saskatchewan, Canada, Kenny Pumfrey of Pierceville, Kan., and Walter Pumfrey of London Mills; two brothers, Darwin Bollinger and Alan Bollinger of Scott City; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Kay Malone; one son, John Pumfrey; one brother; and two sisters.

She spent her early childhood in Farmington. She graduated from high school in Gilson. She moved to London Mills in February, 1955, where she has lived since.

She is a member of United Methodist Church, London Mills Women’s Club and Knox County Home Extension.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at her church. Cremation rites will be accorded then memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at her church. Corman Memorial Home in Avon is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to United Methodist Church in London Mills or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
