Bob PowellBob Powell, 73, of Lewistown, formerly of Rushville died at 1:37 p.m. May 28, 2009, at Prairieview Care Center in Lewistown.

He was born Aug. 20, 1935, in Terre Haute, a son of Gale and Theda Drain Powell.

Surviving are one daughter, Rhonda Larsen of Benson, Ariz.; friend, Shirley Jackson of Lewistown; one brother, Dick (and Myrna) Powell of Rushville; five sisters, Jeannine (and Ernest) Shanks of Astoria, Ruth Ann (and Merle) Horwedel of Buda, Linda (and Robert) Brown and Cindee (and Morris) McClelland, both of Rushville, and Kay (and Richard) McClelland of Springfield, Mo.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, William Gaylord Powell; and one sister, Edna Pearl Powell.

He was a U.S. Army Korean Conflict veteran.

He worked as a forklift operator at International Harvestor in Canton and later in Ohio, retiring in 1994 after 31 years of service.

He was a member of the VFW.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Services were held Tuesday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville. Inurnment was held at Blackburn Cemetery near Brooklyn.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
