Janie PainterJanie E. Painter, 61, of Rushville died at 10:50 a.m. Oct. 1, 2007, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born June 23, 1946, in Pekin, a daughter of Robert and Marjorie Walker Hannig. She married Lynn Painter on March 25, 1970, in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Tim (and Fiancee Anna Wubker) Painter of Rushville; one daughter, Amy (and Thad) Kerker of Rushville; one sister; and one grandchild.

She was a 1964 graduate of Pekin High School.

She worked for 10 years at Pekin Savings and Loan. For 17 years, she and her husband owned and operated J & L Video in Mount Sterling, and for the last eight years, owned and operated J & L Concessions.

She was a homemaker and teacher’s aide at Schuyler Middle School in Rushville.

She was involved with a play with Pandora’s Playhouse in Rushville; top 20 finalist for CBS’s television series Big Brother 2 and Big Brother 3; and she and her husband also were top finalists for the network’s Amazing Race.

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Good Hope Cemetery north of Rushville with Rev. Rosalee Ross officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville.

Memorials are suggested to the Schuyler County Humane Society.
