Carl PendletonCarl Arthur Pendleton, 87, of Rushville died at 10:38 p.m. Sept. 9, 2007, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born Feb. 9, 1920, in Lamar, Colo., a son of Arthur and Viola Flaugher Pendleton. He married Ruby Juanita Roark on Jan. 20, 1965. She died June 15, 2006.

He also was preceded in death by one daughter, Darlene Roth; and one brother, Wayne Pendleton.

Surviving are one son, Carl “Buddy” Pendleton of Rodeo, Calif.; and three brothers, Melvin Pendleton of Victor, Mont., Lloyd Pendleton of Volcano, Calif., and Loren Pendleton of Placerville, Calif.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of Rushville Assembly of God Church.

He was a farmer, baker, and sold Ashley Wood Stoves for Colorado Fuel and Iron Corp.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at his church with Pastor Charles Hadsall and Pastor Gary Schluckebier officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery northeast of Rushville with military services conducted by Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and the U.S. Army Honors Guard. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
