CAROLE ELAINE (BAUGHMAN) PHILLIPS

Carole Phillips

Carole Elaine Phillips, 67, of Cuba died at 9:50 p.m. April 27, 2007, at Graham Hospital extended care in Canton.

She was born Jan. 8, 1940, in Smithfield, a daughter of Don and Louise Moore Baughman. She married Gary “Buz” Phillips on Sept. 18, 1960, in Cuba. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Gregg of Apopka, Fla., and Jason of Cuba; one daughter, Jill Sanderson of Sycamore; one sister, Shirley (and Bill) Swango of Smithfield; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She worked at the Fulton Democrat in advertising sales.

She was a member of Brock United Methodist Church in Smithfield and Fulton County Arts Council.

She was an award-winning artist and graduated with honors from Spoon River College.

Cremation was accorded. Services were held Saturday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Rev. Joe Tomich and Ardith Corsaw officiating. Burial was in Baughman Cemetery in rural Smithfield.
