Gerald Parker

Gerald F. Parker, 56, of rural Browning died at 4:31 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2005, in the emergency room at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Feb. 4, 1949, the son of Frederick E. and Jacqlyn Lighter Parker.

Surviving are one daughter, Tammy (and Jeff) Bollinger of Astoria; one son, Gerald Jr. of Browning; two sisters, Joyce (and David) McCloud of Baudette, Minn., and Laura Wheatcraft of Pekin; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A member of United Auto Workers Local 974, he worked for Caterpillar Inc. in Delavan, retiring in 2001. He then worked for Armadillo Express in South Pekin until his death.

He was a member of the Astoria Assembly of God Church.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, with Cliff Parry officiating. Burial was in South Fulton Cemetery near Astoria.

Memorials may be made to an education fund for his son established at Vermont State Bank in Vermont.
