Fred MayberryFred Mayberry, 87, of Cuba died at 10:37 a.m. Sept. 10, 2011, at Graham Hospital Emergency Room.

He was born Feb. 26, 1924, in Cuba, a son of Jake and Edith Bishop Mayberry. He married Laverta M. Deeter in November 1954. She preceded him in death on Jan. 15, 2004.

He also was preceded in death by two sons, one brother and two sisters.

Surviving are one daughter, Shirley Harris of Cuba; two sons, Michael Miller of Bartonville and Elzie Miller of Peoria; two brothers, Harold Max Mayberry of Bryant and Marvin Mayberry of East Peoria; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was a World War II Navy veteran.

He retired from Keystone Steel and Wire in Bartonville.

Cremation will be accorded. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Reverend Jim Menne officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the memorial home. Inurnment will be in Cuba Cemetery with military rites conducted by Cuba American Legion Russell Smith Post 533.
