He was born May 19, 1959, in Macomb, a son of Vernon E. and Dixie Irwin Mitchell. He first married Tammy Lafary in 1978, and later married Dianne White in 1984.
Surviving are his mother of Cuba; three daughters, Tera Jo (and Keith) Graham of Cuba, and Samantha Mitchell and Ashli Mitchell, both of Ipava; one brother, Jeffrey (and Carolyn) Mitchell of Albers; and one sister, Vicki (and Jay) Waughtel of Cuba.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He worked for LTD Industries in Duncan Mills, Caterpillar in Morton, managed Thermogas plants in Monroe City and Smithfield and worked for Amerigas in Oklahoma.
He was a former volunteer fireman for Smithfield Fire Dept. and paramedic in Monroe City.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Rev. Jim Menne officiating. Visitation will be held tonight at the funeral home in Cuba. Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery.
