Howard S. Morency, 92, of Rushville died at 3:05 p.m. Aug. 19, 2008, at Illinois Veteran’s Home in Quincy.
He was born Sept. 13, 1915, in Chicago, the 11th of 13 children. He married Virginia Artz Williams on May 1, 1976, in Westmont. She preceded him in death on March 16, 2000.
Surviving are one son, Dr. Richard Dale (Carol) Williams of Freemont, Calif.; three daughters, Virdella Jean (and Glenn) Urban of Edgar, Wis., Judith Ann (and Dr. Charles) Smith of Rushville and Sandra Sue (and Michael) Beckley of Knoxville, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Joseph Lee.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
He was the produce manager for Jewel Store Distribution Center in Chicago, retiring in 1977.
He was a member of Rushville Free Methodist Church.
Services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Clardon Hills Cemetery in Darien. Wood Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
