James McCaugheyJames H. McCaughey, 75, of Wee Ma Tuk died at 6:19 a.m. March 6, 2008, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born Feb. 3, 1933, in Glendale, Ariz., a son of Carl D. and Iola Wilkirson McCaughey. He married Janet Rose on Dec. 21, 1952, in Canton. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Jams R. McCaughey of Swansea and Timothy P. (and Tammy) McCaughey of Springfield; one sister, Margaret (and Edward) Tomkins of Sun City, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1956.

He retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections.

He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church of Canton, a member and past commander of Cuba American Legion and a member of Morning Star Lodge 734 in Canton.

Cremation will be accorded. Services were held Monday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Rev. Roger Russell officiating. Burial was in Baughman Cemetery in rural Smithfield, with military services by Cuba American Legion Russell Smith Post 533.
