She was born April 6, 1932, the daughter of George and Georgia Dorland. She married Fred Mansfield. He survives.
Also surviving are one brother, Russell (and Anne) Dorland.
She was a legal secretary and court reporter.
In 1952, she volunteered at Mason District Hospital. In 1961, they moved to Blue Island. She served as president of St. Francis Women’s Auxiliary, and was involved with the Illinois Hospital Association, serving as a chairman of the State of Illinois Hospital Association Council on Volunteers.
She served on the IHA Advisory Board; a lifelong member of The Order of the Easter Star, Havana Illinois Chapter; president of the Blue Island Evening Woman’s Club; and a 30-year member of the Palos Ladies Golf League.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Christ Memorial United Church of Christ, 2440 York St., Blue Island. Burial will be in First Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Alsip. Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. Thursday at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island.
