Donald KlitzDonald G. Klitz, 72, of Rushville died at 4:19 p.m. Sept. 26, 2013, in Culbertson Memorial Hospital.

He was born Feb. 5, 1941, in Marblehead, a son of Cyril George Carson Jesse and Florence Everett Klitz. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Ferriel “Hy” Booth. He married Launi Harmon on March 16, 1968, in Beardstown. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Craig Allan Klitz of Sullivan, Ind.; two daughters, Kimberly Ann Bartlett and Kerri Jane Himpsl (and friend Shawn Huston), both of Rushville; one brother, Carson D. (and Carol) Klitz of Rushville; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather.

Donnie served in the U.S. Navy from Feb. 26, 1962, to July 23, 1965.

He was a member of Schuyler American Legion Post #4.

He worked as a roofing contractor and later for Illinois Bell, retiring in 1985 due to ill health.

Services were held Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Fred Fritz officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery with Military Honors by a U.S. Navy Honors Detail and Schuyler American Legion Post #4.
