Ruth L. Knippenberg, 82, of Del Norte, Colo., formerly of Rushville, died at 8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at San Juan Health Care Center in Del Norte.
She was born Oct. 22, 1919, in Pekin, a daughter of Clarence and Mary Pearl Bloomer Crooks. She married Edward Lee Knippenberg on May 12, 1946, in Peoria. He died Aug. 10, 1989.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Surviving are two sons, Durward Jones of Creede, Colo., and Tim Knippenberg of Rushville; three daughters, Kathleen Lehman and Mary Joe Keller, both of Creede, and Jeannie Gray of St. Cloud, Fla; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Frederick Crooks of Pekin; and one sister, Velda Robertson of Greenfield, Calif.
She formerly worked at Wells-Lamont in Beardstown and Astoria Fibre Steel in Astoria.
She had attended Browning United Methodist Church.
Services were held Friday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Scott Henley officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
