Jack Johnson

Jack JohnsonJack D. Johnson, 55, of Canton, died at 9:14 a.m. December 11, 2009, in Graham Hospital’s Extended Care Unit.

He was born Nov. 5, 1954, in Macomb, a son of Floyd Dean and Mary Jo Kennelly Johnson of Lewistown. They survive. He married Debbie Waggoner on March 18, 1978, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Rachael (and Michael) Mulligan, Ashley Johnson (and Josh Morgan) and Justin Johnson, all of Canton; one brother, Eric (and Becky) Johnson of Gulf Shores, Ala.; three sisters, Kristina (and Jim) Lewis of Sebring, Fla., Kelly (and David) Embrey of Lewistown and Cara (and Jerry) Bainter of Peoria; step-grandmother, Nina Johnson of Table Grove; and one grandchild.

He graduated from Lewistown High School in 1973 and attended Western Illinois University.

He was a metallurgical technician at Caterpillar last working on June 5, 2008. He retired on March 1, 2009, with 35 years of service.

He was a member of UAW Local 974.

Services were held Tuesday, at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home in Canton with Rev. Kenneth Bloyd officiating. Cremation rites were accorded.
