Laura A. Jones, 81, of Astoria, formerly of Peoria, died at 8:38 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Astoria Gardens in Astoria.
She was born Aug. 4, 1921, in Peoria, a daughter of John and Marie Stevens Terrell. She married Charles F. Jones on July 14, 1951, in Lincoln. He died June 28, 1996, in Peoria.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Annie Shirley Daniels; five brothers; and three sisters.
Surviving are three sons, Ernest (and Evelyn) Daniels from Washington state, Joseph (and Brenda) Daniels of Jacksonville, Fla., and Don (and Diane) Daniels of Live Oak, Fla.; two daughters, Delores (and Ben) Taylor of Astoria and Sharon (and Bob) Gibson of Wyoming, Ill; 18 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.
She worked for Armour Packing Co. and last was a cook at Bishop Cafeteria before retiring.
She attended Averyville Baptist Church and was a member of the Salvation Army Citadel Worship Center.
Services were held Saturday at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel with Capt. Scott Shelbourn officiating. Burial was in Parkview Cemetery.
