Lucille Irvin

Lucille IrvinLucille H. Irvin, 93, of Rushville died at 9:03 p.m. Feb. 14, 2007, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born Jan. 5, 1914, in Rushville Township, Schuyler County, a daughter of Harry and Pearl Moore Hall. She married William F. Irvin on Nov. 25, 1937, at the home of her parents in rural Rushville. He died April 8, 1994.

She also was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Sally Jo (and Jim) Blackburn of Brooklyn and Judy (and Larry) Armstrong of Concord; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She taught at the Hall School in Rushville Township, Brooklyn School, Checkrow School and Bushnell Elementary School from 1961 to 1971.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Rushville; Be-Kik-A-Nin-Ee Chapter, NSDAR; Schuyler Home Extension; PRIDE; Schuyler Jail Museum and Genealogical Center; volunteered at the HELP Center and as a driver’s license instructor for senior citizens; and was a 4-H leader for several years.

Services were held Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Ann Kelson officiating. Burial was in Brooklyn Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Schuyler Jail Museum, Triopia School Foundation or McDonough District Hospital.
