James HatcherJames C. Hatcher, 64, of Industry, formerly of Chicago, died at 10:58 a.m., Jan. 12, 2014, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 19, 1949, in Council, N.C., a son of Isaiah Sr. and Janie Shipman Hatcher.

Surviving are two brothers, Isaiah (and Emma) Hatcher Jr. and William (and Diane) Hatcher; and four sisters, Janice Hatcher, Elsie Hatcher, Barbara Barksdale, all of Chicago and Margaret Hatcher of Clarkston, N.C.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Anthony Carl Hatcher.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He was an officer at DHS Treatment and Detention Facility in Rushville.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Military Honors following the visitation by the U.S. Army Honors Detail and Schuyler American Legion Post #4. Inurnment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Schuyler County Humane Society.
