She was born Feb. 12, 1922, in Schuyler County, a daughter of Oscar James and Emily Mabel Dodds Hood.
Surviving is one sister, Grace Hood of Frederick.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Francis Hood.
She attended grade school in Frederick and graduated from Beardstown High School in 1940. She first worked for the former CB & Q Railroad as a telephone operator. She later became a trainmaster's clerk retiring in 1982.
She was a member of Frederick Christian Church and Schuyler County Farm Bureau.
Services will be held Friday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Dr. Ambrose Stump officiating. Burial will follow in Messerer Cemetery near Frederick. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
