Rex R. Hodges, 74, of Colchester died at 3:52 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2004, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
He was born Feb. 6, 1930, in Colchester, a son of C. Willard and Maude Carson Hodges. He married Ardella J. Clark on Jan. 30, 1949, in Colchester. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Kevin (and Connie) of Astoria; three daughters, Janet Erbsen and Melissa (and Brad) Herron, both of Colchester, and Debby (and Kent) Smith of Industry; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
He farmed from 1959 to 1985. He worked at Hunt Appliance for 42 years and also worked at Carson's Plumbing and Heating.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
He was a member of Colchester United Methodist Church.
Services were held Thursday at Jones Mortuary with Revs. David Bigley and Jim Richardson officiating. Burial was in Mount Auburn Cemetery.
