Ilene Groff, 79, formerly of Macomb, died at 10:15 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Mount Sterling.
She was born Oct. 23, 1919, in Lewistown, a daughter of James F. and Nellie Mae Seward Berry. She married Gerald W. Groff on Aug. 20, 1936, in Keokuk, Iowa. He died May 31, 1990. She also was preceded in death by two grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are one son, Jack of Macomb; two daughters, Beverly Roberts of Victoria and Diana Modlin of Adair; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker.
Services were held this afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Rev. Stacy Nicholas officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Lung Association.
