Doris Chipman

Doris ChipmanDoris J. Chipman, 87, of Lewistown died at 9:38 p.m. March 31, 2015, at the Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba.

She was born June 4, 1927, in Canton, the daughter of George and Elizabeth Perry Means. She married Ray P. Chipman on Oct. 26, 1946, in Macomb. He died Nov. 1, 1990.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Means and George “Ribby” Means.

Surviving are two daughters, Millie Shafer of Canton and Laura (and Jim) Hardy of Dunfermline; three brothers, Gary (and Louise) Means, Himey (and Charlotte) Means and Sonny (and Pat) Means, all of California; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was a homemaker. She also worked as an LPN at Graham Hospital as well as a caregiver in private homes for years.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lewistown.

Funeral services were held Saturday at her church with Reverend Danie deBeer officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown was in charge of arrangements.
