Evelyn BarclayEvelyn Jo Barclay, 77, of Flippin, Ark., formerly of Ipava, died at 4:56 p.m. May 29, 2014, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Ark.

She was born Feb. 3, 1937, in Bernadotte Township, Fulton County, a daughter of Wilma Beaird. She married Joseph O. Barclay on Sept. 16, 1957, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 2009.

She also was preceded in death by one half-brother and one granddaughter.

Surviving are two sons, Charles (and Melinda) Barclay of Newburg, Ind., and Ernie (and Melissa) Barclay of Ipava; two daughters, Wilma “Punkin” Ford of Mountain Home and Carol (and Johnny) Johnson of Flippin; three half-brothers, Richard (and Marilyn) Southwood of Pekin, Gary (and Deloris) Southwood of the state of Texas and Jerry Southwood of Lewistown; one half-sister, Judy DeMoss of Canton; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She worked at Dana-Victor in Havana until they closed in 1980. She then worked as a CNA at Wesley Village in Macomb until 1987.

She was road commissioner for Bernadotte Township from 1976-80.

Services will be held at noon Thursday at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
