Leslie "Les" Bryant IILeslie Eugene “Les” Bryant II, 69, of rural Rushville died at 12:15 a.m. Dec. 21, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 4, 1944, in Rushville, the son of Leslie Eugene “Gene” and Minnie Whited Bryant. He married Diane Diseron Ward on March 17, 2001, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Cherie Dale Bryant (and Dr. Carla Smith) of Kirksville, Mo., and Angela Gene “Bryant” (and Kevin) Fagan of Mount Sterling; three stepchildren, Stephanie (and Bill) Thompson, Kimmie (and Kendall) Taylor and Randy (and Ashlee) Ward, all of Rushville; two grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Jeffery Allen Bryant.

He was inducted into the U.S. Army.

He worked for Oscar Mayer/ Excel Corp./Cargill Meat Solutions for 37 years before retiring as shipping supervisor in 2004.

Services were held Friday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Steve Pichaske officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
