Cyrus Bucher Dies Following Long Illness

Funeral Will Be Held Saturday Afternoon At 2 O’Clock

Cyrus Bucher, well known and highly respected Astoria resident, died at his home on East Broadway Wednesday night, following an illness over a period of six years. He was aged 64 years, 10 months and 17 days.

Mr. Bucher, a retired farmer, was born February 10, 1886, in Woodland township, a son of Cyrus S. and Leah Gibble-Bucher. He was united in marriage to Mabel Miller on Sept. 8, 1906, who with the following children, survive: Lester Bucher and Sherman Bucher of Astoria; Mrs. Eunice Schmitt of Creve Coeur; Miss Merle, at home, and Mrs. Mildred Bucher of Astoria. Also six grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Mary Wickert, Mrs. Ida Senger, Mrs. Annie Blickenstaff, Mrs. Fannie Stambaugh, H. S. Bucher, Mrs. Lizzie Lam and Ezra Bucher, all of Astoria.

Mr. Bucher was a member of the Church of the Brethren.

Funeral services will be held at the Astoria Church of the Brethren Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock, conducted by Rev. Homer Kiracofe. Burial will be in the Woodland cemetery.

Friends may call at the Shawgo Memorial Home until time of the funeral.
