LORI ANN (DANNER) ASKLAND

Lori Askland

Lori Ann (Danner) Askland, 51, of Carmichael, Calif., died Nov. 2, 2018, (Nov. 1, 2018, in the U.S.) at Holy Spirit Hospital, Mumbai, India.

She was born Aug. 28, 1967, to Walter and Janet Beadles Danner in Havana. She married Thor Askland on June 4, 1994, in Astoria. They later separated.

Surviving are her parents, Walter (Wally) and Janet Danner of Astoria; one brother, Mark Danner of Astoria; one niece, Brittany (and Robert) Conner of Peoria and their children, Elliott, Olivia, Liam and Finn.

She graduated from Astoria High School in 1985. She was a U.S. Army Veteran, and received her LVN license from Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa, Calif. She worked as a pediatric nurse for several years.

She enjoyed traveling, and she and her mother left on Sept. 27 to spend the month of October in Rishikesh, India. As they were returning to the U.S. on Oct. 31, Lori became ill and was taken to Holy Spirit Hospital in Mumbai, India.

Cremation rights were accorded in Mumbai with cremains being returned to Rishikesh for burial in the Ganga River. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
