Dr. David AndersonDr. David Lynn Anderson, 63, of Rushville died at 12:10 p.m. July 31, 2007, at his office in Rushville.

He was born Jan. 4, 1944, in Latrobe, Pa., the son of Harry and Sally Conrad Anderson. He married Jan Wheeler on April 14, 1973, in Charleston. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother of Pittsburg, Pa.; one son, Donovan of Rushville; two daughters, Jenny Anderson of Arlington Heights and Kasey Anderson of Carbondale; three sisters, Judy Brown of Vineland, N.J., and Linda (and Keith) Emmanuel and Debbie Hammer, both of Pittsburgh, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from July 1, 1966, to April 30, 1970.

He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church and attended Rushville First United Methodist Church.

He graduated from Gannon University in Erie, Pa., in 1966 and Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago in 1974.

He was an optometrist in Rushville, starting his practice in 1975. He also was an optometrist for the Illinois Department of Corrections in Mount Sterling.

He was a member of Schuyler American Legion Post #4, Voyageur #1100, 40 et 8, Rushville Lions Club and Rushville Moose Lodge #506. He was active in the Scripps Park Wednesday Night Golf League.

Services were held Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. William Hesseldenz and Rev. Mike Cahill officiating, with inurnment taking place Monday in Rushville City Cemetery. Military services were accorded by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard and his legion post.

Memorials may be made to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice or the Rushville Lions Club Community Vision Fund.
