James "Jimmy" AndersonJames E. "Jimmy" Anderson, 75, of Beardstown died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born March 22, 1929, in Beardstown, a son of John Calvin and Dora Friday Anderson. He married Sarah Bernice Knowles on Aug. 15, 1949, in Piggott, Ark. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Danny (and Vickie) of Springfield, Mo., Calvin (and Brenda) of Beardstown and John (and Della) of Astoria; three daughters, Rita Taylor of Springfield, Christina (and David) Taylor of Fayetteville, N.C., and Susan (and David) Oster of Beardstown; three brothers, Calvin (and Bonnie), Herschel and Richard, all of Beardstown; one sister, Doris (and John) Warden of Beardstown; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Donnie.

He formerly served in the Coast Guard.

He worked for Virginia Packing Co., the Illinois Department of Transportation and Oscar Mayer in Beardstown, from which he retired.

He was a member of Black Oak Church in rural Beardstown, where he played the piano and sang.

Services were Monday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown with Rev. Irene DeSollar officiating. Burial was in the Beardstown City Cemetery.
